Namma wi-fi allows Bangaloreans to use free internet in the localities of Brigade Road, MG Road, Shantinagar, Yeshwantpur and Koramangala. Wi-Fi hotspots are located in the bus stands of these locations with multiple access points in each location to allow a larger number of users to use the service. The hotspots offer a speed up to 512 kbps. A user can browse up to 3 hours or 50 MB data in a day. This is a first-of-its-kind service in India and Bangalore, being the IT hub of India, is the first city to implement it.
How to Use Namma Wi-Fi:
To access Namma Wi-fi, do a search for available networks and connect to Ion Namma WiFi. You will be asked to register with your mobile number. Once done, you will get a one-time password for internet access. This is similar to the process we find at many cafes with free Wi-Fi. Give it a shot and let us know your experience!
