The central role played by Priyanka Chopra, this film served as an eye opener to many as what happens to models, their after lives, and the attempts to climb the ladder of success. The protagonist, Priyanka Chopra also won a national award for this movie. A very surrealistic film !

3. English Vinglish (2012)

Set in the United States of America, this film brings out poignantly the misconceived notion of the inability and the non-necessity of an Indian woman to know English. The protagonist, Sridevi, goes to USA during a vacation and promises to give the bravery, courage and a sense of learning inside her, some new food. Beautifully written and enacted, a wonderful watch for the family !

4. Black (2005)

This blockbuster revolves around a deaf girl who is also blind and dumb. This movie shows her struggles with the world and her relationship with her guide and teacher, till he is struck by Alzheimer’s disease. Played by Rani Mukherjee and Amitabh Bachchan, this movie resolves to be a heartbreaking movie and is played excellently by the respective characters.

5. No one Killed Jessica (2011)

Played by Rani Mukherjee and Vidya Balan, this film brought out one of the most horrific cases in the history of Indian crime. Being one of the most resurfacing crimes in the past few years, this movie revolved around a popular murder case. This movie received several awards and positive critical response from the media and supporters.
