Ladies, even if you move around with them for 24×7, do you really think you know your breasts all that well? Besides the popularity, it is really surprising how people know so little about them. If you are a woman, it becomes even more important to keep a check on these basic general knowledge points that you are probably unaware of and these might even save you from huge health disasters. Incomplete information is as harmful as wrong information, and when it comes to our own human body, this rule is even more applicable. So let’s see if you really know your breasts that well.


There is no fixed limit to how much your breasts grow

If you are in your teens, you can expect them to grow even more, especially and inevitably during pregnancy. Similarly it’s true that they shrink too as you get older. Hormonal misbalance particularly during menopause can cause shrinkage. One other major reason is weight loss, since they are essentially made up of fat cells and sadly you can’t communicate with them and tell them which part to burn away from in particular. Therefore, yes, their size will increase over time, and decrease too; it’s a completely normal cycle. All you can do on your part is exercise properly and use methods to prevent sagging.


Almost 85% women wear the wrong bra size

Either they are too shy to ask theirs, or too naïve. Sometimes they might even just want to flaunt away with a wrong sized bra. Common girls, gear up! For god’s sake go to a proper store and get your proper size. If you can’t, do it yourself with a measuring tape by following these simple steps.
 a. Measure right under your bust, around the band to know the band size. The tape should be tight. If you get an even number, add four to it, if it’s odd, add five. That is your band size. Therefore, if you measure 28, your band size is 32.
 b. Now wrap the tape loosely around your chest where it is fullest and round it off to nearest number. Subtract your band size from this number. If you get a 0, the cup size is AA, similarly it’s 1 for A, 2 for B, 3 for C and so on.


So now that you know your proper size, go on, rush to that store and get yourself the one that you are supposed to wear.

Just like your face, your breasts aren’t identical too

Usually one is larger than the other; they aren’t mirror images of each other. So in case you were wondering what’s wrong with the mirror, or probably your eyes, don’t worry girl, we all have been through that confusion at least once. So if you are more of a crazy kind, you may even pick your favorite side and second favorite side. (And obviously keep that a secret if you want to sound perfectly normal to the world, shhh!!

It’s always safe to keep on checking on the symptoms. The most common symptoms are:

  • A lump in a breast
  • A pain in the armpits or breast that does not seem to be related to the woman’s menstrual period
  • Pitting or redness of the skin of the breast; like the skin of an orange
  • A rash around (or on) one of the nipples
  • A swelling (lump) in one of the armpits
  • An area of thickened tissue in a breast
  • One of the nipples has a discharge; sometimes it may contain blood
  • The nipple changes in appearance; it may become sunken or inverted
  • The size or the shape of the breast changes
  • The nipple-skin or breast-skin may have started to peel, scale or flake.

Sleeping on your stomach didn’t make you flat. It’s your body type, it’s your hormones. Breasts are of different shapes and sizes and sleeping position definitely doesn’t decide that.
Wearing a bra doesn’t cause sagging. Some breasts sag more than others. It is all about genes and just simply blame it all on gravity.
Being flat doesn’t mean you don’t have to worry about a proper fitting bra. In the long run, you are likely to face problems with that attitude on.
