The thing which matters most to a blogger is how to attract readers to the blog? Now a solution to this problem is using the the social networks like Facebook, Twitter and Google+ etc. This post explains how you can increase the traffic on your blog using Facebook. For that, all you need is a Facebook page for your blog.
You can efficiently use Facebook, Twitter and other social networks to garner visitors using the social plugins. Facebook defines them as follows:
Social plugins are tools that other websites can use to provide people with personalized and social experiences. When you interact with social plugins, you share your experiences off Facebook with your friends and others on Facebook.
And one of the frequently used plugin is Facebook Like Box. It can be easily embed into your blog and is the best way to attract vistors to your blog.
Now adding a Facebook Like Box to your blog is not at all a difficult task and can be done easily in abut 10 minutes. No technical skills/coding is required. Anyone with a desire to learn can do this.
The Like Box enables users to:
- See how many users already like this Page, and which of their friends like it too
- Read recent posts from the Page
- Like the Page with one click, without needing to visit the Page
Adding a Facebook Like Box to your blog:

- On that page, you will find the like box of Facebook Developers page. Now replace the URL in the Facebook Page URL with the URL of the Facebook page for which you want the social plugin. For example, I replace that URL with URL of the Facebook page of Durofy.
- Now you can adjust the width and height of the box. Also you can decide whether you want the faces and stream to be shown or not. This is a screenshot showing what I chose :
- Click the Get Code button. Now select the iFrame option and copy the code.
- Now login into your blog(WordPress/ Google Blogger) where you want to add this plugin.
For Google Blogger users:
- After you login, select the Layout button on the dashboard.
- Then select Add a Gadget and click on add button to the right hand side of HTML/JavaScript gadget.
- Now paste the iFrame code which you have copied in the Content and save.
- Login into your WordPress site and then select the widgets option under the Appearance on the sidebar of your blog’s dashboard.
- Then select the Facebook Like Box widget and similarly paste this URL of the Facebook page in the widget to your sidebar.
- Now save and this completes the process.
