Facebook: Introducing the Follow Button

0

Your friends aren’t the only ones who might like your photos or posts.

Like the most Facebook users, the things you share on Facebook – status updates, photos, videos etc. may sound interesting to people with the same interests. And you may like to share these things with them.

On the other hand, you might also want to hear from from people you’re interested in but don’t know personally— like journalists, artists and political figures.

With the follow button, Facebook makes it easier to do both. You can easily choose exactly what you see in your News Feed. Maybe you don’t want to see every time your brother plays a game on Facebook, for example. Or maybe you’d like to see more stories from your best friends, and fewer from your coworkers.

So you can use it to:

  1. Choose what you see from people in News Feed
  2. Hear from people, even if you’re not friends
  3. Let people hear from you, even if you’re not friend.

Now you may ask:

How to allow followers on your Facebook profile?

It just takes seconds to allow people to follow you on Facebook. And it shares all your updates, photos and videos marked as public among your followers. You should only add someone as a friend when you know them personally but if you want to share your stuff with them, allowing them to follow is a good option. When someone follows you, they’ll only be able to see your public updates. That’s the basic difference between a follower and a friend. And to allow followers on your Facebook profile, all you need is to:

(i) just visit visit this page (https://www.facebook.com/about/follow) and click on the turn on button to allow followers on your Facebook profile.

(ii) Alternatively, you can also

1. Go to your Account Settings.

Followers 42. Select the Followers tab on the left hand side of the page.

Followers 63. Check the box to the right of Turn On Follow.

Follow Interesting People:

The Follow button also lets you hear from interesting people you’re not friends with—like journalists, artists and political figures.

If you see a Follow button on any profile, this means you can subscribe. Just click the button to get their public updates right in your News Feed.
