Facebook has been continuously evolving and is adding and testing new features. One among them is Facebook List.
Lists are an optional way to organize things on Facebook, like your friends or the things you’re interested in. You can use lists to filter the stories you see in your News Feed or post an update for specific people, like your coworkers or friends who live near you.
And in this post we will be discussing Facebook Interest Lists in detail which is significantly different from the Facebook list feature. These interest lists help you to organize the content you are interested on Facebook. You can sort your News Feed and reach (or exclude) specific people when you share things on Facebook.
You can create your own interest lists based on the things you care about, or follow other people’s lists. For example, you could create a Top Indie Bands list that features bands’ Pages and public updates from band members. When you create or follow a list, you’ll see the best posts from that list in your main News Feed. Your lists will also appear in the Interests section of your bookmarks. Simply click the list’s name to see all the recent posts and activity from the Pages and people featured in the list, without overwhelming your main News Feed.
Now we will see how to create a Facebook Interest List?
- Go to your Interests page and click the Add Interests button.
- Click Create List.
- Search for the people or Pages you want to add to your list using the search box at the top of the screen, or use the categories on the left to browse.
- After you’ve selected all of the things you want to include on your list, click next.
- Pick a name for your list.
- Select a privacy setting (learn more). Choose Public if you want others to be able to subscribe to the list you’ve created.
- Click Done.
Note: You don’t have to like a Page or subscribe to a person to add them to your list. Adding things to a list and subscribing to a list are independent from liking or subscribing to the Pages and people featured in the list.
In future, if you come across a page that you feel fits in to one of your interest lists, then you can always add the page to your existing interest list as follows:
So this is it. How many of you are using this feature on Facebook and do you feel is it worth?
